New Open Meeting Added – Join Us!

We’re excited to announce a second Open Meeting for the BIHN community! In addition to our 4th Wednesday gathering, we now meet on the 2nd Thursday as well. These meetings provide a welcoming space for brain injury survivors and caregivers to connect, share, and support one another. Join us for meaningful conversations and a stronger community.

Meet Paul Davis, Our Circle of Hope Facilitator!

We're honored to have Paul Davis leading BIHN’s Circle of Hope Recovery Meeting. A lifelong Oregonian and passionate advocate, Paul’s journey with brain injury began at age five, followed by a car accident in 2011 and a stroke in 2019. Sober for 33 years, he now dedicates himself to supporting others navigating both brain injury and substance use recovery. Paul’s message is simple: “We move forward together with the strength of community.” His leadership fosters hope, resilience, and connection for all who join.

Welcoming Shane Pennington as Our New Meeting Host!

We're thrilled to have Shane Pennington as our new BIHN meeting host! A certified mindfulness meditation and adaptive yoga teacher, Shane found healing through mindfulness after a traumatic brain injury in 2016. With certifications from LoveYourBrain and the Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Certification Program, she brings passion and expertise to our community. Living in Southwest Florida with her rescue pets, Shane enjoys playing guitar, swimming, and gardening. Join her in our meetings for connection and support through mindfulness!

Introducing Mindful Hope

Starting next month, BIHN will offer a new monthly mindfulness meeting. This structured gathering is designed specifically for those affected by brain injury. Mindfulness can be a powerful tool for reducing stress, improving focus, and fostering emotional resilience. This meeting provides a supportive space to explore meditation, breathwork, and other mindfulness practices tailored to life after brain injury. Welcome Chelsea Zarcone to Our Board

BIHN is pleased to announce Chelsea Zarcone as the newest member of our board. A dedicated New Hampshire native, Chelsea has devoted over a decade to enhancing the lives of those with brain injuries and mental health needs. With a background in Psychology from the University of New Hampshire and a Master’s in Social Work from Salem State University, her extensive experience ranges from the Krempels Center to various neurorehabilitation roles. A licensed Clinical Social Worker and certified brain injury specialist, Chelsea continues to champion the rights and care of those with dual diagnoses. Her commitment to advocacy and specialized care enriches our mission and our community.

BIHN Celebrates 11 Years of Hope

With the hustle and bustle of this week, an important date was almost overlooked. This week, the Hope Network celebrated its 11 year anniversary! What a journey it's been. Between our Survivor Community and Sarah's Caregiver Community, close to 50,000 members share experience and hope. We never planned on creating the largest support community worldwide that serves others effected by brain injury, but here we are.
